Background: Endoscopic gastric atrophy according to Kimura-Takemoto classification has been shown be closely related histopathological atrophy. Gastric and intestinal metaplasia are considered precancerous lesions that need assessed monitored for early detection of dysplasia cancer, especially in H. pylori infected patients. The aim this study was evaluate the associations between these endoscopic Kimura - Takemoto pathologic characteristics. Methods: A cross-sectional conducted 72 dyspepsia patients at Hue University Medicine Pharmacy Hospital, assigned assessment testing positive. Assessing compared with (atrophy, metaplasia, dysplasia) modified Sydney system. Results: mean age 55.6 ± 13.13, male/female ratio 1.4/1.0. rate stage C1 37.5%, C2: 40.3%, C3: 9.7%, O1: 11.1% O3: 1.4%. Efficacy of the Kyoto Classification of Gastritis in Identifying Patients at High Risk for Gastric Cancer

Objective The Kyoto gastritis classification categorizes the endoscopic characteristics of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection-associated gastritis and identifies patterns associated with a high risk of gastric cancer. We investigated its efficacy, comparing scores in patients with H. pylori-associated gastritis and with gastric cancer. Methods A total of 1,200 patients with H. pylori-pos...

Relationship between ghrelin, Helicobacter pylori and gastric mucosal atrophy in hemodialysis patients

AIM To investigate the relationship between plasma ghrelin level, Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection status and the severity of atrophy in hemodialysis patients. METHODS One hundred eights patients who received hemodialysis and 13 non-hemodialysis H. pylori-negative controls underwent gastroduodenoscopy to evaluate the severity of gastric atrophy. Serum levels of pepsinogen (PG) were m...

The relationship between H. pylori virulence genotypes and gastric diseases.

There have been no reports on the relationship between virulence genes and gastric diseases based on the same bacterial colonization density. Our results indicated that Helicobacter pylori virulence genes were more relevant than colonization density as a pathogenic mechanism of gastric diseases, which helps elucidate the pathogenic mechanisms of bacteria and aids in the development of improved ...
